Using principles and techniques from Fitzmaurice Voicework® and Organic Intelligence®, participants in this weekend workshop will learn the foundations of voice technique leading to a freer voice, body, and presence.
Why Join my Weekend Voice Workshop?
This workshop is intended to be a gateway into a voice practice. If you're an actor or singer who doesn't already have a consistent voice practice in place, this workshop will give you the foundational elements to begin.
The truth is, if you're an actor and you don't have strong voice technique and a routine practice in place, you're limiting your work. Voicework doesn't just help you sound better, it also helps you feel better. Voicework will help you feel more at ease in your body and breath so that you can authentically connect to your character and text. And, of course, voicework also solves the practical need to be heard.
In this weekend workshop, you'll learn:

The Fitzmaurice Voicework® Destructuring Sequence: a voice and body warm-up sequence for releasing muscular tension, leading to more ease and freedom in your breathing and a fuller speaking voice.

The Fitzmaurice Voicework® Structuring technique: tools for supporting your voice so that you can be effortlessly heard, whether you're on-camera or on-stage, while feeling connected to your authentic self.

Organic Intelligence® techniques and tools for grounding you when your voice becomes shaky or overwhelmed by nerves or anxiety.
You'll also fulfill the prerequisites necessary for joining my Ongoing Voice Class so you can continue your practice after the completion of the workshop.
When is the workshop?
The next workshop will be held on February 3rd and 4th, 2024.
Saturday, February 3: 10am-4pm PT
Sunday, February 4: 12pm-4pm PT
Where is the workshop?
This workshop will be held online via Zoom. The workshop will be recorded and the recording will be made available for 30 days following the workshop.
What will we do in the workshop?
I'll teach you the Fitzmaurice Voicework® Destructuring sequence, and Structuring [i.e. vocal support] techniques. We'll also cover Organic Intelligence® principles for feeling present and regulated. There will be several options for participants to work with text and get coaching on their performance.
How much is the workshop?
The workshop is $225.
Do I need to prepare anything?
Please have a monologue or song to play with. You'll be exploring this text on your own throughout the workshop, and you'll also have opportunities to perform for the group and get coaching from me.
Do I need prior experience?
You do not need prior experience in order to join this weekend workshop. Note that your participation in this workshop will fulfill the pre-requisites needed for joining my ongoing voice class.
